Naaboli Private Limited

A Malé company registered in 2008

Naaboli is a private limited company registered with the Ministry of Trade and Industries in Malé on 12 October 2008, its About page says. Its website describes a company specialised in the sale and promotion of eco-friendly products in the Maldives. Its listing on Local.mv, a Maldives business directory, dated January 2020, names termite and bed bug control as its specialist fields. The website adds that its management brings well over twelve years of experience in marketing, fisheries and retail.

Pests, methods and named products

Its Treatments page covers dust mites, roaches, bed bugs, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, wood termites, ants, and rodents such as mice and rats. The page says its products are of Japanese origin.

Its methods run from fumigation, fogging and misting to indoor and outdoor spraying, termite control in soil and wood, and baiting. Fumigation, it notes, is carried out after the space has been fully sealed.

For fogging and misting it names Gokirato, based on d-d-T cyphenotherin, a form of pyrethroid, and Kincho ULV, based on permethrin. ULV means ultra low volume: the machine breaks a little liquid into a cloud of tiny droplets. The page describes Kincho ULV as a fog for open areas that reaches the green buffer zones where mosquitoes breed. Gokirato can also be sprayed indoors against cockroaches, bed bugs, ants and spiders, it adds.

For termites underground and in timber it lists Hachikusan MC & ME, which works through imidacloprid in treated soil. Its baits include BTi tablets aimed at mosquito larvae, an ant gel based on indoxacarb, and a cockroach bait made with boric acid. It also lists a bio ball or pole for sewage junctions and flush tanks, and a rat bait based on warfarin. An active ingredient is the substance in a product that acts on the pest.

Resorts, Malé and getting in touch

Its About page says some products it imports are designed for tourist resorts and hotels. Those products include fuel additives as well as pest control solutions, the page adds. The same page gives its mission as pest control solutions delivered in economically and environmentally viable ways.

Its website takes enquiries by phone, mobile and fax, and has a contact page. Its Local.mv listing links Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.

Before any treatment: questions to put

Its Treatments page names the substance behind its fumigation, fogging and bait products. The questions here are general guidance for any pest treatment, whoever carries it out. Before work starts, ask for each product's name and active ingredient in writing, and how long people and pets should stay out of treated rooms.

Its mosquito work runs from fogging in open areas to BTi tablets for the larvae. For mosquitoes, ask whether the team will look for standing water where larvae grow, such as drains, plant pots and gutters.

Its ant gel and cockroach bait are made to sit on walls, on the ground and in narrow spaces. Ask where each gel or bait will be placed, and how it will be kept away from children and pets.

Termites have their own page in its website menu. For termites, ask whether the plan treats the soil around the building, the timber itself, or both, and how activity will be checked afterwards.
