Pesterminators Pvt. Ltd Maldives

Pest control and pest management, based in Malé

Pesterminators Pvt Ltd describes itself on its website as a pest control and pest management company.

A Local.mv listing files it under pest control, with an office in Malé. That listing links to its Facebook page, which carries the name Pesterminators Pvt. Ltd Maldives.

A plan that shifts with the seasons

On Privileged Maldives, a loyalty-programme site where it keeps a vendor page, Pesterminators sets out a pest management plan built on an integrated approach. Integrated pest management, often called IPM, joins prevention, regular checks and targeted treatment into one plan. The same page says the pests the plan targets change as each season changes, to keep the protection preventive.

Questions to settle before a treatment

Its vendor page speaks to homes and to other property alike. What follows is general guidance for anyone booking pest control. In a block of flats, pests travel between homes along shared walls, pipes and bin rooms. Ask whether the treatment works better when the neighbours, or the whole building, are treated in the same week.

Cockroaches, flies and spiders are among the pests the page names. Say which pest you see and in which room, and attach a photo, so the team can plan the right treatment. Ask how many visits the job takes and whether a return visit is included, since eggs can hatch after the first round.

Rodents and mosquitoes are on that list too. For rats or mice, ask where traps or bait boxes will sit, and who checks and clears them. For mosquitoes, ask whether drains and standing water are treated as well as the air.

The page also describes a team of experts working to keep pests away all season long. For a guest house, café or office, ask how many visits a year a plan includes, what each visit checks, and how call-outs between visits are charged.

Its Local.mv listing gives its aim as teaching people about pest management and building up household pest control in the Maldives. After any treatment, ask how long children and pets should stay out of treated rooms, when surfaces can be wiped, and for the product names in writing.
