Reefside Electronics Service Center is the authorised service centre for Sony, Aiwa, Bose and Nikon electronic products in the Maldives, according to its page on the Reefside website. The page says it repairs and services the latest electronic products and offers local and international after-sales service. Its Local.mv listing files it under electronics repair and maintenance, and electrical parts and repairs.

Its page says the senior technicians are trained by the brands' principal companies. It adds that the technical staff bring around twenty years of experience in after-sales service.

Part of the Reefside group

Reefside's About page traces the business to a souvenir shop opened in Malé in 1976, which became Reefside Co. Pvt Ltd in 1980. The page says Reefside sells watches and electronics and set up a Watch Care Centre and this Electronics Service Centre for after-sales service. Reefside's online shop sells the same brands the centre looks after, with Sony and Aiwa TVs, Bose and Sony audio, and Nikon on its menu. Its shop banner lists official warranty next to the electronic service centre.

Handing in a repair

Reefside's website menu has a Contact Us page, in the same menu as the service centre's own page. These questions are general guidance for any electronics repair. Bring the receipt or warranty card if the product is still under warranty. If you bought it abroad, ask whether the brand's international cover applies here. Describe the fault and when it happens, and note any error message on the screen. For a camera or a smart TV, ask whether your settings and saved files survive the repair. For headphones or a speaker, bring the charging cable too, since a fault can sit in the cable or the charger. Ask for the repair price and the parts in writing before work starts, and keep the job number. Ask whether the repair work carries its own warranty, apart from the product's, and for how long.
