Promec Solutions

Engineering supply and HVAC from Malé

Promec Solutions Maldives Pvt Ltd supplies and services HVAC systems, meaning heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, with a focus on resort supply. Its website gives a Maldives head office in Malé and a sister company in Sri Lanka, Promec International. PinkBazaar, a business directory, lists it under appliance repair in Malé.

Home and kitchen appliances as well as cooling

Its entry on the Handy Maldives provider list describes maintenance and service of air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and kitchen appliances. The same entry names homes, hotels, restaurants, caterers and food suppliers among the places it serves.

Equipment in its catalogues

Its website catalogues cover walk-in cold rooms with their panels and controllers. They also list air handling units, which filter, cool and move air through a building's ducts, along with chillers and duct accessories. Kitchen lines such as hoods, prep tables and dishwashers, and spare parts for pool systems, complete the range.

Team, support and sister companies

The website describes its HVAC technicians as certified at NVQ Level 3 and 4, a vocational qualification, each with over four years in the field. Its sales team includes a specialist for the hotel and resort sector, the site says. Its site states that customer support is available around the clock, any day. Sister company Promec Logistics handles freight forwarding, customs clearance and the shipping of personal effects.

Questions to ask before you book

Enquiries go by phone and WhatsApp from its PinkBazaar listing. The questions below are general guidance for appliance and cooling jobs. For a fridge or freezer that has stopped cooling, ask whether the visit checks the gas, the fan and the thermostat. For a washing machine, describe the fault and give the brand and model. For a walk-in cold room, ask how the door seals, the temperature alarm and the controller are checked at each visit. For a café, guest-house or shop kitchen, ask for a maintenance plan in writing, with the visits a year and what each one covers. When several appliances need work, ask for each as its own line, so quotes compare like with like.
