Lets Cool

The Refcool showroom brand, in Malé and Hulhumalé

Lets Cool is a branch of RefCool, its Local.mv listing says, focused on air conditioning, refrigeration, cold storage and cooling systems. Refcool's About page says Letscool was opened to put all of the company's products under one roof, giving shoppers a hands-on look at everything it offers. Its first outlet opened in 2016, the About page's timeline shows, and a second one followed in Hulhumalé in 2017 for customers living there.

Cooling, kitchen and laundry appliances, and more

Its Hulhumalé listing names a wide shop range: air conditioners, refrigerators, cold storage and cooling systems, TVs, kitchen appliances and washing machines. The same list goes on to other home appliances and electronics. Vehicle products complete it: motor oils, lubricants, tyres and spare parts. Both listings sit in the Local.mv categories for air conditioners, refrigerators and chest freezers, electronics and washing machines.

Service work and spare parts

Alongside sales, the Malé listing names air-conditioning services and spare parts for the systems it sells. Each listing is headed as a refrigeration service and an HVAC service. HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air conditioning: the equipment that cools, heats and moves air indoors. Cold storage appears in both listings too. Cold storage covers walk-in chillers and freezers, of the kind shops and cafés use to keep stock cold.

Two outlets, and how to reach them

Refcool's website lists two Letscool shops, one in Malé and one in Hulhumalé. Under its outlets heading, Refcool's contact page lists a phone line and an email address for each Letscool shop. Its Local.mv listings add a call button and a link to its Facebook page.

Part of the Refcool family

The Hulhumalé listing describes Lets Cool as part of RefCool, RefCool Electronics and Cool Ride. Refcool, the parent, started in 2002 as the only authorised Gree distributor and service agent in the Maldives, according to its About page. The same timeline names Coolride, a Refcool company for vehicles that distributes Liqui Moly products, and Refcool Electronics for electronics and home appliances.

Buying and fitting an AC: what to ask

Air conditioners head the sales list on its Hulhumalé listing, and its Malé listing adds AC services. These questions are general advice for anyone buying and fitting an air conditioner, not claims about Lets Cool. When one shop sells and installs the unit, ask whether it deals with the maker on any warranty claim, and what written cover it gives for the installation. Ask whether the new unit gets its own breaker and a fresh cable from the board, or runs on the existing wiring.

Spare parts are part of what its Malé listing offers. For a repair, ask for the part to be named in writing, with the cover on the part and on the labour set out separately. Moving an AC to another room? Ask whether new copper pipe, insulation and a drain line are in the price, and who seals and paints the old wall opening.
