Lead Tech

Shop counters, cameras and keyless doors

Lead Tech puts together point-of-sale counters for shops, cafés, restaurants and resorts, and runs a store in Malé. A point-of-sale (POS) system is the till set-up that rings up each sale and prints the receipt. Trading as LEAD TECH Maldives, its website also sells CCTV, smart locks, smart-home devices and computer memory and storage.

Its About page says it began in 2019 as a Facebook page selling smartphones. Its own website followed in 2023, and the timeline also marks an island-wide delivery network. The page says it stocks only genuine products from authorised channels.

Till systems built to order

Its POS page lists terminals, receipt and thermal printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners and label printers, set up ready to use. A bundle builder on its home page lets a shop pick modules, and the site offers to deliver, install and train staff anywhere in the Maldives. Set-up runs on site or remotely, and it mentions trade-in credit for shops replacing an older system.

CCTV, from one shopfront to a warehouse

Its CCTV page says it supplies and installs camera systems, from one shopfront camera to multi-camera resort and warehouse set-ups. The range runs from IP, dome and bullet cameras to NVRs, DVRs and PoE switches. NVRs and DVRs are the recorders that store the footage, and PoE carries power and data down one cable. Hikvision cameras feature in its list, and the page says each camera is genuine and carries the maker's warranty.

Answers on the same page say it installs CCTV in Malé and can arrange installation on other islands. Its entry on PinkBazaar, a global business directory, files it under CCTV installation in Male (Malé).

Locks, switches and sensors for the home

Its smart-lock page lists digital door locks that open by fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card or a phone app. An RFID card is a tap card, like a hotel room key. It names homes, guest houses and resort rooms as uses, with advice on the right model for each door.

Its smart-home range covers Wi-Fi light switches, smart plugs, door sensors and IR blasters, mostly Tuya or Smart Life devices. An IR blaster is a small box that sends remote-control signals to a TV or an AC. The page says its Tuya and Smart Life devices link to Alexa and Google Home, and most need no hub. For Malé and Hulhumalé, it says it can arrange installation of switches and wired devices.

Opening hours, orders and delivery

Its contact page gives its hours as ten in the morning to eleven at night, Saturday to Thursday; Friday is a holiday. Enquiries go by WhatsApp, phone, email or a message form, including warranty claims and bulk orders for businesses. Online orders go from the cart to WhatsApp, where its team confirms the final details. Its CCTV page says deliveries reach other islands by speedboat and ferry.

Questions worth asking before you buy

Its POS bundles include staff training. The tips that follow are general guidance for buying shop, security or smart-home kit, not claims about Lead Tech. For a till system, ask how staff will learn it, where sales records are backed up, and who to call during trading hours.

Its camera range includes the recorders that keep footage. Ask how far back the recorder keeps video, how you check the cameras from your phone, and who controls the main login.

Most of its smart-home devices run from a phone app. Ask which app controls each device, and whether switches and locks keep working when the internet goes down.
