Mass Technology

Mass Technology in brief

Its About page says Mass Technology has provided security and ICT systems in the Maldives since 2006, starting as a division of Tasmil Pvt Ltd. The same page says that on 12 January 2017 it rebranded and became its own company, Mass Technology Pvt Ltd. The business is based in Malé, and its home page gives working hours of Sunday to Thursday, nine in the morning until five in the afternoon.

Cameras, locks and cabling in its range

Its Products page is grouped into access control, CCTV, networking, smart locks, home CCTV, NVRs and hard drives. An NVR is the recorder that stores footage from network cameras. Items listed include fingerprint and Samsung smart locks, Hikvision door entry panels, PTZ cameras that pan, tilt and zoom, optical fibre cable, network switches and rack-mounted UPS battery backups.

One home camera on its product pages is a Wi-Fi model that pans, tilts and zooms, with motion tracking, night vision and two-way audio. Brand logos on its home page include Hikvision, Ezviz, Axis, Samsung, Fermax, Milestone, Netgear, Dell, HP and Seagate.

Systems it designs and fits

The About page covers design, supply, installation and maintenance of CCTV, access control, time attendance, door entry, LAN and cable TV networks. A LAN is the local network, wired or Wi-Fi, that links the devices inside one building. It names homes, multi-storey residential buildings, condominiums, office buildings and resorts as places it works.

On the Solutions page, ICT work spans structured cabling, fibre backbones, GPON, enterprise Wi-Fi and server systems. GPON is a fibre system that splits one optical line to serve many rooms or flats. The same page lists electrical wiring and distribution boards, the panels that hold the breakers, plus fire detection and alarms. The same page also lists digital door locks, IP doorphones, parking barriers and hotel guest-room locks. It also describes multi-island fibre expansion work for major telecom operators.

Projects and clients

Its project list names the High Court of the Maldives, Maldives Customs, the People's Majlis extension building, Stelco and MWSC. Its Why Choose Us page says it supports resorts, developers, banks, government bodies, healthcare sites and commercial properties across the Maldives. That page also describes preventive and corrective maintenance, system health checks and round-the-clock support options.

Before you buy or book

Mass Technology lists cameras, recorders and hard disks from several makers. These pointers are general guidance for anyone buying security or network equipment, not claims about Mass Technology. Have the brand and model of every camera, recorder and switch written into the quote, and ask whether the maker's warranty and the installer's warranty are separate.

Home CCTV has its own product category on the site. Agree where each outdoor camera points, so it covers your own door and stairway without looking into a neighbour's flat.

Smart locks and door entry systems sit in its range too. When you buy a lock, camera or router over the counter, check whether the seller will set it up for you, and how a fault under warranty is handled.
