Alarms Pvt Ltd: fire safety and security from Malé

Its Local.mv listing says Alarms Pvt Ltd started in 1996 and provides fire and security services. Its own website organises the work into three departments: fire safety management, security, and projects. On PinkBazaar, a business directory, Alarms Pvt. Ltd. is listed for CCTV installation in Malé.

Three departments, in plain words

The fire safety department deals with fire safety equipment, including fire alarms and fire extinguishers. A fire alarm system links smoke or heat detectors to sirens through a control panel, which shows where an alarm started.

The security department covers security panels and security camera systems. A security panel is the control unit of an intruder alarm: door contacts and motion sensors report to it, and it sounds the siren.

Its projects section covers cabling, installations, and mechanical and electrical work. Its Local.mv listing files it under security systems, security systems and services, and fire safety equipment.

Hours and enquiries

Its PinkBazaar listing takes enquiries by phone and WhatsApp. The same listing gives its hours as 9 am to 5 pm, Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday closed.

Tips by system, before you ask for a quote

Fire alarms head the list of its fire safety equipment. These tips are general guidance for anyone fitting alarms, fire equipment or cameras, not claims about Alarms Pvt Ltd. When a fire or intruder alarm goes off, ask who finds out: a siren on site only, a message to your phone, or named people called in turn. Ask how often the system will be tested once it is in, and whether regular service visits come with it.

Fire extinguishers sit in the same department. For extinguishers, ask which type suits each spot, because a kitchen, an electrical board and a corridor each need a different kind. Ask when each one is due for its next check, and what the label on it will show.

Security camera systems are part of its security work. For cameras, ask how far each one sees in the dark, and whether outdoor units are rated for rain and salty sea air.

Cabling is one of the project types it names. Where cables must cross walls or ceilings, ask how they will be hidden, and who restores the paint afterwards.
