From satellite links to heavy machinery

AGMA Maldives began in September 1996 in satellite telecommunications, its website says, and after a decade moved into mobile phones and construction. Today the same page presents the company, AGMA Maldives Pvt Ltd, as a provider of heavy vehicles and construction solutions, with its office in Malé.

Digging, demolition, cranes and concrete

Its home page offers heavy rentals for homes as well as large infrastructure, backed by what it calls a decade of expertise. Its gallery shows excavation for a house in Malé, the demolition and excavation of buildings, and crane hire at a block of flats. A crane lorry at work on the T-Jetty in Malé appears too. Other captions show concrete casting for guesthouses on Maafushi and Rasdhoo. Concrete casting is the pour that forms a slab, column or beam, and excavation digs out the ground for new foundations.

A bridge, power plants and resort sites

Its portfolio lists heavy vehicle rentals and engineering assistance on the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, for CCCC Second Harbor Engineering. Gallery photos from February 2016 show platform casting for the bridge. For SEMCO Maritime of Denmark, the portfolio names heavy vehicle rentals, excavation and installation work on a power project.

The gallery adds a generator installation for MWSC, the water and sewerage company, and power plant maintenance at One & Only Reethi Rah. It also shows concrete casting for staff quarters at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, and a submarine cable installation for Dhiraagu.

Telecoms and hotel sound systems

Its home page offers a professional range of telecommunications and satellite solutions. For John Keells Holdings of Sri Lanka, the portfolio lists wireless sound systems fitted in the group's hotels. Its Local.mv listing, last updated in December 2019, files it under construction, renovation and refurbishment, rentals, real estate and networking solutions.

Getting in touch, and what to ask first

Its PinkBazaar entry lists it under general services in Malé, reachable by phone or WhatsApp. When opened on 8 October 2026, that listing showed it open from nine to five, Sunday to Thursday, and from nine to two on Saturday, with Friday closed. Its own website also carries an enquiry form that asks for your company and designation. The points below are general advice for anyone hiring a builder or heavy machinery in Malé, not claims about AGMA Maldives. When the site sits in or beside a block of flats, ask who clears the work with the building or landlord, which hours machines may run, and how rubble leaves the street. Ask for the job split into stages with dates, one named person on site, and a rule that any change is priced before work on it begins. For crane or excavator hire, ask whether an operator and fuel come with the machine, and who arranges any road or jetty permit. Ask what the contractor will come back to fix after handover, for how long, and see that promise written down.
