An interior design and construction studio in Malé

Design Gallery's website presents it as an interior design and construction practice, established in 2005 and based in Malé. Its services run across interior design, office design, home design, interior construction and material supply. Interior construction, often called fit-out, means building the inside of a space: partitions, ceilings, joinery, finishes and fixed furniture. The website describes carrying each project from the first idea through to the finished rooms its clients use.

Projects on its public archive

Its online project archive lists thirty-five projects dated between 2020 and 2025. Clients named in its project archive include the Saudi Embassy, Ooredoo, the State Bank of India, LUX Maldives, Sheesha and Amana Takaful Maldives. The work ranges from an embassy interior and boardrooms to cafés, showrooms, ATM enclosures and a seaplane lounge at Velana International Airport. Trade-show stalls appear often, made for the Hotel Asia and FHAM exhibitions from 2022 to 2025. Three Hulhumalé jobs are on the list: a datacenter showroom and a staff pantry for Ooredoo in 2020, and a Sheesha service centre in 2024. The archive tags each job by discipline: interior design, interior design with construction, office design or home design.

How a project runs

Its website sets out four phases: inspiration, concept, planning and implementation. Its website says planning covers drawings, schedules and suppliers, and that in the last phase the studio builds the room itself. The site gives studio hours of nine to six, Saturday to Thursday, and its PinkBazaar listing shows the same hours with Friday closed. Enquiries go by email or phone through the website, and PinkBazaar, an online business directory, adds WhatsApp.

Before you commission a fit-out

Its website, like its Local.mv listing from January 2020, sums up the approach as inspiration to implementation. The tips below are general advice for any interior or office fit-out. Sign off drawings and a finishes schedule, with brands, before building starts. Where one firm designs and builds, ask for design fees and construction costs on separate lines. For offices and shops, ask who obtains building-management approval and how noisy work fits the building's permitted hours.

Material supply is one of its listed services. Ask which materials the firm supplies and which you buy, and who handles a maker's warranty on each. Tie stage payments to finished, inspected work rather than to calendar dates. For a trade-show stall, confirm the build and break-down slots the organiser allows.
