Roknet

Roknet: built on a boat story

Its About page says Roknet was founded in 2016 and models its approach on the Rocket, a traditional Maldivian sailboat (dhoani) that was refitted for engines rather than replaced. The page sums the idea up in a single line: 'We improve before we replace.' The website says it delivers IT support, business software, network infrastructure, security and energy systems across the Maldives.

Work on its project list

Its Projects page sorts jobs by type, including CCTV and surveillance, access control, intercoms, firewalls, telephony, UPS power, and Wi-Fi and mesh networking. Mesh networking means several Wi-Fi units working together to cover a large floor. Project titles cover retail stores, a construction site, a cold storage warehouse and several company head offices.

For one fashion store, Roknet rolled out Wi-Fi mesh across the shop floor, laid structured network cabling and installed CCTV. A café chain project, titled for Hulhumalé (Hulhumale'), gave every outlet CCTV, biometric staff attendance, cabling and Wi-Fi.

Solution lines

Under network and infrastructure, its Solutions page names structured cabling, networking, servers and data centre equipment. The security line brings CCTV, access control and intercoms together in one system. Access control means doors that open with a card, a code or a fingerprint.

Managed IT support covers maintenance, security updates, day-to-day help and a helpdesk for staff. Energy work adds solar systems and UPS backup, battery units that keep equipment running through a power cut. Business software such as ERP, which ties finance, sales and stock together, sits next to consulting for planned projects.

Showroom and the brands behind it

Roknet also runs a showroom of technology products and consumer electronics for work and home. Its Connections page labels it exclusive distributor for Uniview, Uniarch, Hopetrek and Youkey, and authorised distributor for Dnake and Anviz. The same page shows certified status with Odoo and Yeastar, and brand logos including Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Dell, Microsoft, Yealink and Santak.

Finding Roknet

Its head office and its showroom are both in Malé City (Malé). You can reach the team by phone, by email or through a request form whose menu runs from managed IT and network work to security and the showroom.

Questions for a network or CCTV quote

Wi-Fi and mesh networking is one of the project types Roknet lists. What follows is general guidance for anyone hiring a network or CCTV installer, not a statement about Roknet. Before a Wi-Fi quote, ask whether a technician will walk the premises first to spot weak-signal corners, and where every access point (the small unit that sends out the signal) will be mounted.

CCTV and surveillance has its own filter on the Projects page. For cameras, ask how many days of footage the NVR, the recorder that stores CCTV video, will hold, whether you can watch on your phone, and who keeps the admin password.

Its managed IT line covers ongoing support after a system goes in. Once the work is done, find out who to call when a device stops working, whether help can come remotely, and how maintenance visits are booked and charged.

Where this comes from

Every fact here comes from Roknet's own website: its home, Solutions, Projects, Connections, About and Contact pages and two project pages, read on 8 October 2026. Speak for Roknet? Claiming this page lets you post fresh deployments and photos and keep each solution line current.
