Personal Computers

Personal Computers: an IT house in Malé and Hulhumalé

Personal Computers is an IT company with a head office in Malé and a showroom in Hulhumalé. Its home page says it has spent more than fifteen years in the ICT industry and employs more than a hundred staff. The same page presents it as the national distributor for four major international brands, with service authorisations. It also says it provides OEM-certified service in the Maldives, meaning repairs certified by the equipment maker, so devices need not be shipped away for repair.

Networking gear in its online shop

Its online shop has a networking section with Wi-Fi routers, range extenders, wireless access points and Wi-Fi controllers. Its networking range also lists managed, unmanaged and PoE switches, network cables, IP phones and point-to-point devices, the radio links that join two buildings. The Wi-Fi page names ASUS, TP-Link, D-Link and Ubiquiti UniFi equipment, including a whole-home mesh system.

Beyond networking, the shop covers laptops from Lenovo, Dell and HP, plus printers, storage and UPS units for battery back-up. Its site description states a one-year warranty on all laptops and desktop computers.

Delivery, installation and field visits

Its services page says it handles purchase, delivery and installation for every product it sells. Its services page says its field service works on site on call, with nationwide reach, and carries out site surveys to plan a complete solution. Maintenance covers routine checks, repair or replacement and upgrades, under maintenance contracts shaped to each client.

For businesses, the page also offers IT resourcing, where its staff step in at critical times, and corporate accounts that the page says come with round-the-clock account managers.

Projects and the brands it carries

Its project list includes a full IT network set-up, with support, for a resort island under construction. Other projects cover modular UPS systems, a server set-up and a modular data centre at a resort. Brands linked from its home page include Fortinet, Grandstream, APC, Vertiv, HP and Logitech.

Visiting and getting in touch

Its services page lists opening hours on Saturday and from Sunday to Thursday. The site lists a customer support hotline, with Viber, WhatsApp and Telegram among its contact links. It also links a store locator and its online shop.

What to agree before a network job

Use the points below as general guidance for any home or office network job; they are not claims about Personal Computers. Network cables and Wi-Fi gear both sit in its networking range. Decide early which rooms will be wired and which will stay wireless. A desk, TV or games console that never moves gains most from a cable, which leaves more Wi-Fi capacity for phones.

PoE switches appear in its range too. If cameras or ceiling access points are planned, ask whether a PoE switch will power them through the network cable itself, which saves fitting a socket beside each device.

Its services page offers maintenance contracts shaped to each client. For an office, find out what ongoing care costs once the installers leave, and whether problems can be handled remotely. Ask for a separate network for visitors, so their phones never share the network with staff computers.

It sells equipment from makers such as TP-Link and Ubiquiti, and installs what it sells. Ask for each router, switch and access point to be named by brand and model in the quote, and check how the maker's warranty and the installer's own cover differ.

Where these facts come from

Facts here come from the Personal Computers home, services and project pages, read on 8 October 2026 along with two pages of its online shop. Personal Computers can claim this page to feature its latest network jobs, with photos.
