White Shade

Fabrics, upholstery and soft furnishings

White Shade's Local.mv listing describes a fabric outlet for interior and exterior needs, with related accessories. Its range runs from internationally branded fabrics to everyday ones, sold from a showroom, the same listing says. Local.mv files it under cushion makers and upholstery, furniture repair and restoration, and curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. Maldives YP, a Maldives business directory, names the company White Shade Investment Pvt Ltd and places it in Malé.

Re-covering furniture

The Maldives YP entry adds blinds and curtains, building materials and home goods to its categories. As general advice for upholstery and outdoor fabric jobs, these questions help. For a sofa or chair, ask whether the foam and webbing are renewed or only the cover. For terrace cushions or awnings, ask for a fabric made for outdoor use in sun and salt air. Ask to see a large swatch against the furniture before any fabric is cut.
