Lavish makes curtains and blinds to order, and its home page says they are handcrafted in the Maldives. Its contact page lists two showrooms, one in Malé and one in Hulhumalé. The home page presents Lavish as a lifestyle brand dating from 2007.

Curtain styles, blinds, fabrics and films

Its shop lists pinch pleat, inverted pleat, ripple fold, grommet and goblet curtains, as well as readymade and hospital curtains. A ripple fold curtain hangs in even, soft waves, while a grommet curtain slides along a rod through metal rings set into the fabric. Blinds come as roller, Roman, vertical, zebra, bamboo and monsoon types, and as Venetian blinds in aluminium or wood. A zebra blind has alternating sheer and solid stripes that slide past each other to let in more or less light.

Fabric collections cover dimout, satin, sheer and lining fabrics, with named ranges such as Timeless Florals and Tranquil. Dimout fabric dims a room by holding back most daylight. The shop also sells window films, listed as heat-reducing Ultracool, tinted, mirror, privacy and shatterproof security films, plus cushion covers and throw pillows.

Measuring, fitting and cleaning

Its About page names customised curtains, blinds and upholstery, installation, and curtain cleaning and maintenance among its services. The same page offers measurement, consultation and fabric swatches on request. From the home page, customers can book a date for the team to visit and measure. The measuring request form asks which island the visit is for, naming Malé, Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2, and Villimalé, and the team then confirms a date and time.

Its cleaning page sets out three curtain cleaning packages: drop and pick, drop and install, and collect and install. In each package the items are checked and quoted first, and cleaning starts once the customer confirms. With the install packages, its team brings the curtains back and hangs them, and with collect and install it also picks them up.

Getting in touch

Its contact page invites calls, Viber messages, SMS texts and email, and has a message form. The website also runs an online shop with a cart. Its Local.mv listing files it under curtains, blinds and soft furnishings.

Before you order curtains or blinds

Measuring visits and fabric swatches are both on its service list. These tips are general guidance for anyone buying made-to-measure curtains or blinds, not claims about Lavish. Ask for the measuring visit and the fabric samples to happen in your own room, so you judge colour and weight in your own light.

Lining and dimout fabrics are both in its fabric range. For a bedroom, ask whether a blackout or thermal lining can go behind your chosen fabric, and how it changes the way the curtain hangs.

Installation is one of the services its About page lists. Ask how tracks, rods or brackets will be fixed to concrete walls or ceilings, and whether fitting is part of the quote.

Curtain cleaning and maintenance appear on the same list. Ask for care instructions for each fabric, and get the lead time for made-to-measure items in writing.
