FORTSEN

Floors, blinds and decorative stone

FORTSEN's Local.mv listing centres on interior finishing and furnishing for architectural, residential and industrial clients. It names wooden laminate flooring, real hardwood flooring and window blinds, each with installation, plus decorative craft stones and inspection and consultancy. The blinds it lists come in vertical, Venetian, roller and wood styles. Maldives YP, a Maldives business directory, places it in Malé under home decor and home goods.

Laying a new floor

The Local.mv listing invites customers to call or to visit its showroom for advice before a project. Here is some general guidance for a laminate or hardwood floor. Ask what underlay goes beneath laminate and how the base floor is levelled first. Ask what expansion gap is left at the walls and how skirting will cover it. For real wood, ask how long the boards rest in the room before fitting, so they settle to its humidity.
