The Systems Workshop Pvt Ltd

A Malé security and data specialist with a Sri Lankan parent

The Systems Workshop Pvt Ltd, known as TSW, registered and began work in the Maldives in November 2014, its About page says. Its home page names it as a subsidiary of South Asian Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Sri Lankan ICT distributor.

TSW describes its role as a value-added distributor, meeting customer needs through a network of resellers. Its About page lists government agencies, banks, financial firms, resorts, hotels and small businesses among the organisations it has served. Its PinkBazaar entry lists it under security services in Male (Malé).

Keeping intruders and malware out

Its Solutions page starts with next-generation firewalls, the filters between a network and the internet. Its range covers site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, which are encrypted links for branches and for staff working away from the office. It also lists intrusion prevention and sandboxing, which opens suspect files in a sealed test space. Its endpoint security blocks viruses and spyware on each computer, controls USB devices and backs up desktops and laptops.

Wired and wireless networks, servers and storage

For connectivity, the Solutions page covers switching, routing and wireless LAN for busy, crowded spaces, with protection against rogue access points. On the hardware side it lists rack and blade servers, network attached storage, a shared disk on the office network, and larger storage area networks.

Backup and getting systems back

Its disaster recovery service protects a whole server, including the operating system, applications and data. A website announcement, last updated in January 2025, names Vinchin as a backup brand it brings to businesses across the Maldives. That platform backs up servers, databases, NAS boxes and Microsoft Exchange mail.

Brands it carries, home networking included

Its Products page names Check Point, Commvault, McAfee, Synology, Barracuda, Atempo, CrowdStrike, Kaspersky, ManageEngine and IBM. The page says every product comes with the maker's warranty and support, backed by its own local support.

An announcement on its site, last updated in March 2024, says TSW was appointed the exclusive Maldives distributor for Trendnet. That range runs from routers, switches and access points, the boxes that broadcast Wi-Fi, to range extenders, IP cameras and NVRs, the recorders that store camera footage. Smart plugs and smart sensors for the home are part of it too.

Training, health checks and opening hours

Its About page says the technical team trains each customer in day-to-day admin and schedules regular health checks after handover. According to the Solutions page, its local and Sri Lankan support teams work around the clock. The office in Malé opens from nine to six, Sunday to Thursday, and from ten to three on Saturday, its website says. The contact page takes enquiries by email and phone.

Points to settle in an IT support contract

Real-time network monitoring is one of the services on its Solutions page. The questions here are general guidance for any firm or household buying IT security, not claims about The Systems Workshop Pvt Ltd. Get the support contract to spell out its scope: security updates, monitoring, and the route for raising a fault, whether phone, email or ticket.

Server and NAS backup feature in the Vinchin range it brought in. Find out which copy of your data sits away from the building, when a restore was last tried, and who hears about a failed job.

Trendnet access points and cameras are among the products it distributes. Any quote for equipment should name each item's brand and model, and show the maker's warranty apart from the cover the installer gives.
