About Shadownet
Meet Shadownet
Shadownet calls itself a total networking solutions provider, and its About page dates its founding to 2013. The company, now Shadownet Private Limited, works from an office in Malé (Male'). Its milestones show VOIP and security services added in 2015, major resort infrastructure projects in 2018, and cloud and advanced security services launched in 2023. The same timeline says the team grew to over ten skilled professionals in 2020.
Its service lines, one by one
Network design and implementation covers LAN and WAN planning, set-up, tuning and wireless networks. A LAN links the devices in one building; a WAN joins separate sites. Its VOIP line offers IP PBX systems, SIP trunking, unified communications and call centre set-ups. VOIP carries phone calls over the data network, and an IP PBX is the office phone exchange that runs on it.
Security work spans IP and analogue CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and video management software. Under structured cabling it lists data cabling, fibre optic installation, cable management, and testing and certification. Infrastructure security adds firewalls, UTM, network monitoring and security audits. UTM means one device that combines a firewall with filtering and threat protection.
It also installs servers and storage, with backup and recovery and virtualisation. Its service level agreements bring maintenance contracts, remote monitoring, on-site visits and, by the Services page's own account, round-the-clock support. System integration, IT consulting and project management round out the list.
Equipment makers on its home page
Its home page shows logos of the technology makers it works with, including Fortinet, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Synology, Dahua, Grandstream, Yealink, Yeastar and ZKTeco.
An airport and a beach project
At Faresmaathoda Airport, its Projects page describes the design and roll-out of a GPON fibre backbone, a data network, IP access control, IP CCTV and a public address system. For Amber Beach, the same page lists IP CCTV, a Wi-Fi guest hotspot system and an IP phone and data network.
Office hours and enquiries
Its contact page sets office hours of nine to five from Sunday to Thursday, with a shorter Saturday. Enquiries go by phone, by email or through the message form on that page.
What to ask a network installer
Structured cabling is one of Shadownet's core lines. These questions are general guidance for planning any network job, not claims about Shadownet. For new cabling, ask which cable grade goes in, whether it runs in trunking or conduit (the covers that protect cable on or inside a wall), and who repairs the plaster afterwards.
Its cabling service ends with testing and certification. On handover day, ask for every cable to be labelled, for the network names and passwords in writing, and for a simple drawing of what was installed where.
Remote monitoring is part of its service level agreements. Before signing a support contract, read which equipment it covers, how often a technician visits, and which problems can be fixed over the internet.
