Computer Plus

Board-level repairs and a shop in Malé

Computer Plus repairs motherboards and replaces damaged screens on phones, laptops and monitors, from a shop in Malé. Its home page says it supplies computer systems, networking hardware and accessories to businesses and organisations across the Maldives. The same line adds IT support, device servicing and software installation.

Repairs and upgrades on the bench

Its services page lists motherboard diagnosis and repair, including power failures and component faults. The motherboard is the main circuit board that every other part plugs into. It also replaces batteries, installs operating systems, drivers and software, and upgrades memory and storage. For a storage upgrade, the page offers a secure transfer of your data to the new SSD or hard drive. An SSD is a storage drive with no moving parts.

Printer work covers paper jams, drum and fuser repair, and full servicing for all major brands. In a laser printer, the drum lays toner on the page and the fuser bonds it with heat.

Networks, servers and cameras

Its networking service sets up and troubleshoots wired and wireless networks for homes and businesses. It installs and configures servers for data, backup and day-to-day business work. CCTV installation is offered for homes, offices and commercial spaces.

The shop, its brands and its clients

The online store runs from laptops, desktops and printers to networking devices, point-of-sale kit, UPS units, IP phones and biometric terminals. A UPS is a battery unit that keeps a computer running through a short power cut. Brands on its home page include HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, MSI, Fujitsu, Logitech, Kingston and Brother. Its client list names Kuredu Island Resort & Spa, the Ministry of Climate Change, Majeediyya School and several island councils.

Asking for a repair, and opening hours

A form on the services page lets you pick a diagnosis, repair, upgrade, data recovery, on-site visit or remote support, and attach a photo. Its PinkBazaar listing gives its hours as nine to six, then eight to ten at night, every day except Friday. That listing files it under computer and laptop repair in Male (Malé), and its Maldives YP listing adds computer store and computer repair service. Its Local.mv entry lists computers, laptops, printers and related peripherals.

Good questions for network and repair jobs

Wireless network set-up for homes is on its services list. Treat the questions here as general guidance for any IT job, not as claims about Computer Plus. Before Wi-Fi work, ask whether someone will walk through the flat first to find weak spots, and where each access point, the box that broadcasts Wi-Fi, will sit.

Diagnosis is a request type on its form. For a repair, get the fault described in writing before work begins, save a copy of your files, and see the new part named on the bill.

Remote support is another option on that form. Ask which faults can be sorted over the internet, and when a technician needs to come to you.
